Don Navarro

Don Navarro was born and raised in Lakewood, Colorado. He became interested in photography during an extracurricular course in elementary school. Some of his work has been juried into group shows at notable art galleries in the Denver metro area including Colorado Photographic Arts Center, Foothills Art Center, Lapis Gallery and Spark Gallery. Hal Gould, who was the owner and director of Camera Obscura Gallery, which has since closed, curated The Photography Show at Foothills Art Center. Navarro’s work received third place in the show, and was purchased by a private collector. Navarro is currently pursuing a bachelor of fine arts in photography at the University of Colorado Denver. He participated in a study abroad program in Italy, where he learned historic photographic processes. The Denver Public Library for their permanent artist book collection purchased his original one-of-a-kind book of photographs celebrating the photographic history of Denver. He has been honored as an Academic Athlete at the University of Colorado Denver, receiving a scholarship as recognition. Navarro will present his BFA thesis work in an upcoming show in May 2015 at RedLine Gallery in Denver.
